I had one of those deflating, devastating moments this morning when I fired up my trusty laptop to see what was going on in the world and got a "operating system can't be found or is corrupt" screen of death. Normally I would cry, then frantically search for the number of the tech guy that fixed it last time it happened (July 2010) but not this time.

I dug through my pile of software CDs until I found the recovery disk and all of the other disks that looked like they could be useful and singlehandedly brought that sucker back to life. I am not a tech geek. I know nothing about operating systems and defrag'ing hard drives but I fearlessly dove into the rescue mission. It is on that same "dead" laptop that I am typing this blog entry on right this minute. Hooray for me!

This minor life victory got me thinking, what else can I do that I didn't think I could? Could I climb Mt. Everest? Probably not. Could I start the non-profit that has been on my heart for years now?  Probably. In fact I am certain I can and I made some major leaps towards bringing that mission towards reality.

So I am thankful for my laptop crashing because in a weird way, it helped me to reboot myself, and I am running better than ever now!
